PRISONERS OF LOVE

You signed the confession
they stuck in your hand,

at dusk the silhouettes
of armed guards

atop the cell-block wall.
Visiting day I bring you

a pair of dancing mice.
All the candles are burning

We watch baseball on TV
 and cry at triples.
