Helen Vitoria

Cattail Song

if I bow back far enough
push harder, bend wildly
see more
touch less
ok, maybe touch more
pay the crickets
endorse all the right congregations
hard kiss the hand of ugly creeds
write all the Dear John letters
if I rinse with gasoline, straight up
navigate just so
then maybe, then
I might tell you my brief history

Fjord

my shark swims towards his greater pleasure of a shallow lagoon/bites glacial debris/distinguished by an inlet rise at his mouth/ I am the only one with a droplet of blood in the water
