Exposure
 
I wear your love like a cheap coat. Faux leather. Fabric cracking from mild abuse. Cuffs dirty from neglect. Each time you try to reclaim it, you allow my empty promises to swallow you whole and I watch, amused, as you expose yourself to the cold.



Sometimes
 
They had remained friends for years. Sometimes he'd put his arm around her. Sometimes she'd lean her head back on it when she laughed. Today they sit in silence, close but not touching, lost in their own thoughts, unsure how to proceed.
